Inuit Art

Inuit art refers to artwork produced by Inuit, the people of the Arctic, previously known as Eskimos. Historically, the preferred medium was ivory, but since the establishment of southern markets for Inuit art, prints and figurative works carved in stone such as soapstone, serpentinite or argillite have also become very popular.

Inuit Images Gallery of Sculpture, Carvings & Quality Pieces

Inuit Images Gallery has been offering the highest quality Inuit art pieces since 1986. Although our gallery is on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, we also hold exhibits in different parts of the country twice yearly. Our collection of Inuit sculpture and carvings, ivories, prints, drawings, artifacts, jewelry and books is extensive, and includes pieces both prehistoric and contemporary.

Our Inuit art pieces appeal to both the novice collector and the advanced, and many of our customers have purchased from us for many years. We also buy older collections and pieces, and our inventory is regularly changing as a consequence.

Whether you are interested in a sculpture or carving, a piece of ivory from our walrus collections, or perhaps an Inuit print or drawing, we can guide you through your purchase and help you find that “just right” piece to add to your collection. If you are simply interested in learning about Inuit art, perhaps we can introduce you to a fine book on the subject.

Inuit Images aims to please all collectors, and we represent the best in Inuit art, sculpture and carvings. We travel to the Arctic from time to time, and are regularly adding the very highest quality pieces for our gallery offerings. We love hearing from collectors old and new, and offer personal involvement in helping you find that perfect piece for your collection.
